Successful Go-Live in only six months

The customer

The dalli works in Stolberg produce drugstore articles - from sun milk to cleaning products. The family business is now run by a family member in the fifth generation.

The challenge

No access to the seller's SAP system, a long-term supply contract, a cut-over without interrupting the supply chain - this project was not just a challenge.

The solution

For the carve-in, GAMBIT used an alternative, multi-stage migration procedure since a partly automated transformation was not possible. Can be called quite clever - we call it a matter of experience.

The customer benefit

Grade 1 for performance, a go-live to the day, continuity of the supply chain beyond the cut-over date Or in other words: a successful project and a satisfied customer.

The dalli works are market leaders in the field of beauty and household care products. In order to further strengthen this position, the company purchased a production plant in Romania. The responsible persons commissioned GAMBIT Consulting to completely integrate this plant into their own IT infrastructure in only six months - exactly to the day.

"History was made at Dalli-Werke." Hans-Reinhard Abels, Chairman of the advisory board of Dalli-Group "History was made at Dalli-Werke."

"You have successfully completed a pioneering project that describes a new chapter in our corporate history."

The integration of the purchased plant into the IT system landscape of the dalli plants encompassed several aspects at once: among other things, complete SAP integration with simultaneous harmonisation of data, the integration of production subsystems and the development of the complete facility infrastructure.

The particular challenge of the deal, however, was a complex and long-term supply contract with the previous owner of the plant - this contract included an uninterrupted supply relationship characterised by stringent quality and delivery figures.

The project was also a challenge because direct access to the seller's SAP system was not possible for competitive reasons. A partially automated transformation using SAP Landscape Transformation or SAP Object Transformation was therefore impossible.

The carve-in into the new SAP system environment was therefore carried out in an alternative multi-stage migration process. The GAMBIT experts considered both modified processes with the new external logistics service provider and the integration of process-critical non-SAP environment systems.

We accompany the IT during mergers & acquisitions holistically. Before the transaction with our IT due diligence and subsequently with services in the areas of carve-out and post-merger integration.

In close cooperation with the customer's project management the GAMBIT team succeeded in meeting the go-live date. In addition, the SAP experts kept the load on the customer's IT as low as possible. Last but not least, they made sure that even the targeted key performance indicators of production and delivery performance were exceeded - right from day one.

Accordingly, the Managing Director of Dalli-Werke, Ingo Steinbach, was also enthusiastic about the performance of the SAP consultants of GAMBIT and said: "You have made history at Dalli". And the Chairman of the Dalli Group Advisory Board, Hans-Reinhard Abels, also found words of praise: "You have successfully completed a pioneering project that describes a new chapter in our company history.
